I understand that most people haven’t been photographed that many times by a professional photographer and the chances are you don’t really know what to expect or are a little nervous.
I get it – whilst I love being behind the camera, I know how daunting it can be when you’re on the other side of the lens. I know you think you won’t know what to do in front of the camera, and that you might be worried that your children won’t behave.
That’s where I come in.
I hope that this will give you a little more insight into how I work.
Whilst my photography style is relaxed and natural, my job is to gently guide you so that I can capture you and your family at your best, and more importantly, capture the essence of individual personalities, the love and connection you have as a family, precious baby moments or the beauty of an expectant mother.
My approach is very gentle and encouraging.
At the time of booking your photography session, I’ll discuss the type of session you are looking for, where you would like it to take place and get some information on who you would like photographing.
Around 2 weeks before our photography session we’ll have a pre-consultation via telephone or email, where we’ll discuss how you can prepare for the session, including tips on what to wear, what to bring on the day and to finalise locations.
I will also take this opportunity to get to know a little bit about you and your family before your session.
If you have opted for a maternity or newborn photography session at home, I may request snapshots of the rooms you’d like to use or arrange a short consultation at your home, so that I can discuss the best rooms to use for light and space.
Finally, I’ll touch base a day or two before the session, to confirm timings and check the weather, (as rescheduling may be necessary for outdoor sessions).
Once we’ve had our photography session, I’ll begin creating a gallery of images for you (the total number of images in the gallery is dependant on the type of session you book).
Each photograph is carefully selected and hand edited by myself to bring out the very best in each image. This is very time consuming and is often no easy task to narrow the photographs down!
Around 4-6 weeks after your session, you will be sent an email with a link to your personal online gallery, where you can view your photographs from the comfort of your own home and select which digital images you would like to purchase.
Your digital images can then be prepared to send to you on a USB stick, along with a proof prints of each selected photograph – giving you something tangible to keep and share with your friends and family.
I can also assist you with selecting and ordering larger photographic prints of the highest quality, should you wish to have statement wall pieces.
